Job Summary:

We are seeking an organized and proactive self starter as a Commercial Construction New Business Development Lead to locate and manage bid opportunities. This ideal candidate will coordinate with the project manager to ensure a seamless execution of the bid process. The development lead will play a key role in identifying potential projects, securing bids, and supporting the team in driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities


1. Bid List Management

◦ Identify and secure access to all available commercial, local, state, and federal government bid lists for projects within Michigan.

2. Opportunity Identification

◦ Regularly review bid lists to identify suitable projects valued between $100,000 and $3,000,000.

◦ Present selected opportunities to the project manager for viability assessment

◦ Evaluate potential opportunities for Vesta Companies to bid on.

3. Bid Process Coordination

  • Secure all necessary bid documentation.

  • Schedule Project Manager for site walk-throughs.

  • Support the preparation of accurate and competitive bid pricing.

  • Ensure the timely submission of all bid documents.

  • Follow up on bid results and maintain records for analysis and strategy

    improvement.

  • Assist the Project Manager in executing all necessary documents for successful

    bids.

    Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: prefer experience in the construction or commercial sector.

  • Skills:

    • Self starter

    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

    • Proficiency in identifying and securing bid opportunities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and

      external stakeholders.

    • Knowledge of bid processes and documentation.

    • Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and bid

      management software/tools

    • General knowledge of the construction process and projects

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Work with project manager as a team to secure projects
